My Exciting and Eventful Vacation to Chicago

It had been a fewyears since our family has taken a holiday, principally due to keeping our belts tight like so many others have done due to the economy. My only nephew asked his fiance to marry him and that is’s all it took! We found out the day of the wedding, my husband and I both had vacation time coming from work so we decided to make the trip and make it a holiday as well. Before we knew it, it was time to get packed and load everything up and got on the road.

This was no small trip. Almost 1200 miles back to my home town in IL so there was a lot of hours spent driving. Unfortunately not all of our issues were left back at home. After several hours of sitting and driving the first day I had started sensed some lower stomach discomfort. Being perfectly truthful I believed it was a mixture of nerves, excitement and maybe just sitting for too much time. However by the end of our first day the pain had become more intense. When we finally stopped for the night I attempted to unwind and stretch out some, hoping that it would improve, but there wasn’t any change. It became so bad I though we’d have to go to a nearest ER. I made the decision to try and get a good nights rest and make the choice in the morning. Before going to bed I called my mom to tell her where we were and what was going on with me. After describing the symptoms I was having and Mom told me she had the same symptoms when she was having problems with ovarian cysts. She also told me about some of the different treatment of ovarian cysts and how this one natural treatment worked best for her. So I made the choice to go to the ER that night, solely to confirm what was taking place.

I’m certain every one of you have experienced going to the ER at one time in your life or another. Well, the one we visited was remarkably full. Let me tell you, discomfort or no pain, waiting in a room full of sick and hurt folks was not a very good atmosphere. The mixture of all these factors truly irritated my anxiety. As time passed with people coming in and out constantly, waiting to be seen while experiencing a great deal of agony it was finally enough and I began having a panic attack. All I would have liked to do was leave there, pain or no agony. I should admit, if it wasn’t for the support my hubby had given me, along with the skills I had learned about overcoming panic attacks I truly think I would have walked out. Eight hours later I walked out feeling slightly better so far as the pain. The anxiety and panic had gotten better and the ultrasound confirmed I had a single ovarian cyst. There wasn’t any cause for concern though I recieved a prescription for agony if needed, some guidelines on things to avoid and told to check in with my GP when we got back home.

We made it to Chicago and over the following days the pain decreased. I was still experiencing a little anxiety, but it was more excitement about what exactly was going on. In fact one night we all met up and went out to eat at one of our favourite restaurants . This is the kind of food you simply cannot pick up in the south where we live, so we all did some over eating during that evening. My husband went a bit more overboard then he should have. I could tell because he mentioned that he required one of his remedies for heartburn before we even even made it back to our room. We laughed at it, but the remainder of the night he was in discomfort due to his acid reflux and heartburn.

Actually it was a excellent time. The Wedding was perfect and went smoothly without any problems. It was a night to remember. Actually the whole vacation was something to recollect. We started off a little shaky but the time was wisely spent encircled by family and old friends that we had not visited with in years. That most likely was one of the finest vacations the family and I took in ages.
