Causes Of Eczema: Things To Avoid

Even with in-depth research into the causative agents of the skin condition eczema, there has been no scientifically proven aetiology. However, there has been demonstrated evidence that there are particular factors that predispose one to eczema. The list below contains some common influences that can lead to the occurrence of eczema.

1. Abrasion of the skin
2. Heated environments
3. Allergic reactions towards house dust mites
4. Wearing rough and irritated clothing
5. Particular fabric washers
6. Exposure to Animal dander
7. Inhalation of smoke derived from cigarettes
8. Perfumed soap
9. Unfiltered or unclean water

From the above list, it may seem that anything in the surroundings may elicit an incident of eczema symptoms. As already mentioned, the mere intake of tap water is sufficient to induce eczema. The above hypersensitivities to various agents in the environment classify eczema into an allergic reaction that manifests on the skin.

Certain individuals are also allergic to numerous food products which have been implicated in leading to an eczema episode in these people, that is why eczema treatments are hard to figure out. In particular, breastfeeding mothers should prevent the intake of all types of dairy products, legumes, seafood or eggs in which case, the infant can induce an allergic reaction which can be fatal.

Eating the aforementioned food products whilst pregnant can also increase the chance of the infant being born with eczema. Children, who are suspected to have eczema, should confirm this by eating a small amount of egg white to observe whether the onset of the skin condition occurs. This can also apply to milk, citrus fruits, legumes or other dairy products. If you discover that your newborn is presenting an eczema episode, immediately terminate expose to its associated risk factors and then observe whether the condition dampens or keeps progressing. In such a situation, it is recommended to retain the dryness of the baby. Although you should ensure that the infant does not overheat from the wrapping of blankets which would only act to flare the condition.

Devoid your baby’s diet of foods such as milk, citrus fruits or juices, all types of dairy products and legumes for a significant treatment and improvement of the condition of the skin.

Laundry washing powder or detergent should also not be used and substituted with something mild for sensitive skin.

Products that lack fragrances can also be readily found in the market where chemical additives and dyes are not incorporated. Clothes composed of wool should not be worn as it can act as barbs against sensitive skin. Individuals wearing wool garments should not carry the baby in their arms.

The exact causative factors of eczema are not properly understood, therefore it is recommended to attempt to avoid those risk factors that have been implicated in eczema. If you or your child is susceptible to eczema, you should implement the appropriate steps to prevent its onset and it is recommended to seek the consultation of a doctor who can assist you further.
